About the Artist:Kathy Carlston was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. She loved art from a early age, and her parents consistently provided many opportunities to develop her talents. Kathy attended Columbine High School and soon after Kathy turned fifteen, she and her community were struck by a violent tragedy. During the year after that difficult event, Gerda Weismann Klein, a holocaust survivor, spoke to the students still attending Columbine. In Gerda’s words, Kathy found Hope. If Gerda could suffer that pain, grow through it, and do good in the world, then Kathy could try to as well.Eventually, after high school, she moved to California where she received a degree in Animation and Visual Effects. In the years after graduating, Kathy was able to work on several movies, including Super 8, The Avengers, and Oz: The Great and Powerful.
