When my doctor called and gave the order "you must go on a low cholesterol diet," I explored the available resources. Low cholesterol is not low fat, low carb or Mediterranean. I've tried all of those. I was extremely happy to find this book. It is a complete reference book to explain what the eating plan is, why it works and how. I've been using the meal plans and recipes which are excellent. I know what to shop for and what not to purchase. As an added incentive I put my last lipid screening on my refrigerator to keep me on track.
This was given as a gift for Christmas to my dad. He was very interested in an actual meal plan, over eating the same stuff recommended by his Dr. This gives him such a bigger selection. Thank you
I have already started to implement the program. I hav been using the recipes they are tasty and easy to prepare. The information was great and very useful. I needed something to help me get started on my lifestyle change and this was it. It is a quick read . I was overwhelmed with information from other books and websites. This one was right up my alley.
